Hi, I'm Daniel 👋
I’m about to graduate from the Technical University of Hamburg with a PhD in Mechanical Engineering.

About

My primary research area is mechanobiology - a multidisciplinary field that combines biology, engineering, and physics. Throughout my PhD, I implemented complex finite element and machine learning models to complement experimental studies and study multiscale phenomena of mechanobiology. The interdisciplinary nature of the work was incredibly rewarding, as it provided opportunities to collaborate with exceptional individuals and expand my knowledge significantly.

Other Projects

I like building things

I also started working on other projects that are not necessarily related to my primary line of research, mainly for fun and to learn new tools. Here are a few of the projects - more are coming once I find time to upload them.

  • Raspberry Pi

I always wanted to build something with a Raspberry Pi. So I built a little device to help me take care of my plants.

  • Download Activities from Strava

A simple python script to download Strava activities and store them in a Pandas DataFrame using the Strava API.

  • Learning react and next.js

I wanted to learn more about modern tools for web development. In fact, I built this website with next.js and deployed it using Vercel. Shoutout to magicui for providing a great template!
